All the best to everyone for 2010. Koh Tao is a great place to hang out, for me the best one in Thailand from what I have seen so far. Because I did traveled 3 years ago all the Andaman Sea side down to Malaysia, I have seen some places in Thailand. Koh Tao has a perfect balance of laid beach style and on the other side it offers a lot of options of being active. From climbing, diving, jungle tours or every night party, this place offers a lot. There is no mass tourism, no hotels, just beautiful small resorts. I was lucky to still find a small bungalow so close to New Year. And I did find a very nice one for a small budget close to the beach.

So far I enjoyed the beach life a lot. Koh Tao has some of the most incredible beaches with the clearest water in Thailand. There are many party’s around, on the beach or anywhere in the jungle. New Year night was a great atmosphere at the beach, hundreds of people been out to celebrate.  The beach side was covered with fire places, fire dancers and lights or fireworks all over the place. I was happy to not go to the legendary Full Moon party on Koh Phangan, something a lot of people did from here. I really enjoyed the atmosphere on Koh Tao.

Today everything is slow and people chill out at the beach side, recover from last night.
